Frequently Asked Questions

What does your company do?

We provide start-to-finish support for individuals entering a nursing home or needing long-term care who require Medicaid. Our team helps gather financial documents, complete and submit the application, communicate with the County Assistance Office, and guide families through every step of the process.

If legal issues arise, we coordinate with a trusted elder law firm to ensure you receive the appropriate attorney-level support.
Do you work with nursing homes or families?

Families are our primary clients, but we work closely with all parties involved.

Families rely on us to navigate what can feel like an overwhelming and time-sensitive process, while nursing homes rely on us to ensure applications are accurate and submitted on time so payment is not delayed.

We coordinate with families, nursing homes, financial institutions, and the County Assistance Office to keep everything moving forward smoothly.
Is Medicaid Navigator a law firm?

No. Medicaid Navigator, LLC is a Medicaid application services company, not a law firm.

However, when legal questions arise—such as spousal protections, spend-down strategies, or complex financial situations—we work alongside a licensed elder law attorney through an affiliated firm. This ensures all legal matters are handled by the appropriate professional, while our team focuses on managing and completing your Medicaid application.
How long does the Medicaid application process take?

The timeline can vary, but most applications take several weeks to gather and prepare, and up to 45 days for the County Assistance Office to process once submitted.

Delays often occur when documentation is incomplete or inaccurate. Our role is to help prevent those delays by ensuring everything is organized, complete, and submitted correctly from the start.
What documents are needed for the Medicaid application?

Medicaid typically requires five years of financial records, along with identification, proof of income, insurance information, and other supporting documents.

We provide a clear checklist and assist with gathering everything needed, including helping retrieve records from banks and other institutions. Our process includes secure uploads, optional mailing support, and organizational tools to make document collection as simple and stress-free as possible.
